Guided and non-guided bird hunting packages

We offer Guided and Non-Guided pheasant and chukar bird hunting packages with individual, group, and corporate packages. Hunting trips are completely customizable; we are happy to tailor your hunting options to fit your needs, as long as ranch minimums are met. Create YOUR perfect hunting trip below!

BIRD PACKAGES (plus Ranch access fees)

20 Mixed Birds
Good for up to 3 hunters, hunting in 1 group.

Good for up to 4 hunters, hunting in 1 group.

Pheasant Rooster: $43/Bird
Pheasant Hen: $33/Bird
Chukar: $33/Bird

Mix includes ½ Roosters, ½ Hens/Chukar (you choose mix). You can add on to any package, at any time.  Ranch Minimum PER PERSON is $250 per person per day / 10 bird min release per field. No exceptions. Packages can’t be split over multiple days. Ranch Minimum must be met per day. No exceptions. Ranch access fee is $50 per person. If you release ½ your birds and don’t hunt your other half for any reason (weather, health, dogs too tired, or other) the ranch access fee for the day will be $100 per person.

Ranch Access Fees:
$50 per Hunter, $15 per Walker, assessed per day on Ranch

Guide & dogs (up to 4 hunters per Guide) can be added to any of the above hunts. Gratuity is not included in pricing. A recommended tip of at least 15% is suggested and will be split among staff.  If you feel someone went above and beyond feel free to tip them directly.
15 Birds is the MINIMUM per release. No exceptions.

One Hunt with Guide & Dogs

Additional Shooting Experiences

Star Wars:  $200/ first 4 shooters.
$25/ each additional shooter as part of a hunting package with ranch access fees paid. If only doing Star Wars $100 plus $50 Ranch Access Fees per person with a $200 min.

Long Range: $50 Ranch Access Fee covers this

Pistol Range:  $50 Ranch Access Fee covers this

Guide fee must be paid for at the time of booking, and are non-refundable.

The minimum bird release for a Full-Day Guided hunt, is 10/person. Two releases.

The minimum bird release for a Half-Day Guided hunt, is 6/person. One release.

Ranch Access Fee for Guided hunts are $15/person / per day.

Ranch Minimum (per gun) is $190, which covers the minimum package ($175) and one Ranch Access Fee ($15).

Ranch Minimum must be met per person. If Ranch Minimum is not met, Ranch Access Fee is $25 (per gun).

Deposits / Cancellation Policy

We try to be as flexible and easygoing as possible out here on the Ranch; however, we are a business, and cancellations can really hurt our business. We have a specific amount of hunts, guides, birds, lodging, and logistical help - when we book someone, it blocks out that space for other hunters. By paying a deposit, you are covering a single person’s spot in the event that you cannot go hunting. The following outlines deposits & our new cancellation policy. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Deposits: Up to 4 hunters: $200. 5-8 hunters: $400, 9-12 hunters: $600, and so on. This is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
  • Deposit per guide: Guide fees must be paid for in full at the time of booking. This is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
  • House Rental: This must be paid for in full at the time of booking.  In the event of cancellation, you will receive the cleaning fee back ($75).
  • Bunkhouse Rental: This must be paid for in full at the time of booking.  In the event of cancellation, you will receive the cleaning fee back ($25).
  • Rescheduling: 50% of your deposit will be rolled over to your new booking. 50% will be forfeited.

Ranch Access Fee

The Ranch Access Fee covers many of the little things that make your trip as enjoyable as possible. This includes unlimited trap sessions & clay pigeons, fire wood, soda, water bottles, dog treats, human treats, cookies, coffee & creamer, outhouse supplies, outhouse cleaning people, band-aids, stickers, etc.

Here are your directions to the best upland bird hunting trips in Central Oregon! Sage Canyon Outfitters is located on Bakeoven Rd. in Maupin, Oregon, a short drive east of Portland, 45 miles south of The Dalles, and 90 miles north of Bend.
From Portland: Take 1-84 east towards The Dalles. Take the US-197 exit (Exit 87) toward Dufur/Bend. Follow US-197 through Maupin. After the bridge that goes over the Deschutes River, turn left onto Bakeoven Road and go about 12 miles to the second big power substation. Sage Canyon Outfitters is just past the substation on the left. Look for our sign! If you see Wilson Road, turn around, you missed the turn.
Go to the big red barn with the green roof to meet.
Approximate travel time is 2 hours.
From Bend: Take US-97 through Madras. Follow US-97 towards Shaniko. Just before Shaniko, turn left onto Bakeoven Road. Go about 11 miles and look for Wilson Road. DO NOT go down Wilson Road. Sage Canyon Outfitters is the next driveway on the right just past Wilson Road. Look for our sign!
If you see the big power substation, turn around, you missed the driveway. Go to the big red barn with the green roof to meet.
Approximate travel time is 1 hour 30 minutes.

The beauty of a good hunting ranch is that it’s located in the middle of nowhere…So look up from your screen & follow the clues we’ve given you, or you will end up in a field (this is not a joke!) GPS will get you close…to our driveway, in fact…but at some point you’ll have to rely on your own natural sense of direction. Call if you need help!.
